  • How much of the day do you cover?

    For full day coverage, I am usually with the Bride for up to 2 hours to photograph all the morning preparations, which is a lovely and exciting time. I then get to the ceremony venue in order to photograph the groom and guests arrival, and work through to the speeches, the cake cutting and first dance. If you prefer I can be there for part of the day, from the groom and guest arrival through to the wedding breakfast.

  • How many photographs do we get?

    Based on an average sized wedding with all day photography, you would receive around 500 photos. These are all individual, not numerous versions of the same photo!

  • What format are the photos supplied in?

    I supply a disc of all the photos as jpegs at high-resolution which is ideal to take prints from or to take to a lab to get prints done there. I also provide a low-resolution disc to load onto your computer enabling you to view the photos in a slideshow. These low-res photos are perfectly sized for social media and email.

  • Do you provide a mixture of colour and black & white?

    I convert about a third of the photos to b/w, purely based on the fact that some photos just look amazing in monochrome. One of the many advantages of digital is that I will always have the original colour version of any b/w photo should you want it.

  • Can we still have some group shots?

    I always do a set of group photos during the course of your reception but do it in a way that doesn’t intrude into your time as such. This includes parents, immediate family, siblings, grandparents, bridal party – you can let me know before the day if there are specific group shots you would like. A list is fine – all I would say is that if you make the list too long it may take up too much of your reception time.

  • Do you work with an assistant?

    No, I have always worked alone. All of the photos on this website have been taken by me – I would worry about quality if I had someone working on my behalf!

  • Can the photos be posted to social media?

    Of course, do please spread the word! I post each wedding to my Harvey Collard Photography Facebook page which you can direct your guests, friends and relations to.

  • Can we have a printed photobook?

    Yes, I design bespoke books using your choice of photographs. Do see the Photobook section for full details and options.

  • Does your fee include travel?

    Yes, for weddings in Essex, Kent, Suffolk, Hertfordshire and London. A charge may be incurred if further afield than here.

  • Do you require a meal?

    If I am there to cover the speeches, cake and first dance then a meal would be welcome, if you are able to let your caterers know.

  • Do we need to meet up before the wedding?

    Assuming we have met in the first place to discuss your wedding and view my portfolios, there is no need to meet up again on my part subsequent to this. I will send out a Details of the Day form about a month before the wedding which will tell me everything I need to know, with contact via email and phone.

  • Do you visit the venue before the wedding?

    Chances are, after 20 years in the business, I will have photographed there before! If not, then my photojournalist instinct kicks in – it’s a buzz working at a new place and I am experienced enough to suss it all out on the day!
